Who we are
This website is operated by The Groundwork Studio. When we refer to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean The Groundwork Studio.
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can contact us at: thegroundworkstudio@gmail.com
What information we collect and why
Enquiry form
When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and any information you choose to share in your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis for this is legitimate interests — you've reached out to us, and it's reasonable for us to get back to you.
Newsletter sign-ups
If you sign up to hear from us, we collect your email address (and your name, if you provide it). We use this to send you updates, resources, and studio news. The legal basis is consent — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry messages for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond and follow up. If we don't enter into a working relationship, we'll delete your details within 2 years.
Newsletter subscribers' details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Who we share your data with
We don't sell your data. We may share it with the following third-party tools that help us run our business:
[Email platform, e.g. Mailchimp / Flodesk] — for managing newsletter subscriptions
[Website platform, e.g. Squarespace / Webflow] — which processes form submissions
These providers are carefully chosen and operate under their own privacy policies and data protection obligations.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our tools may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — for example, using providers covered by the UK's adequacy regulations or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct any inaccurate information
Delete your data ("the right to be forgotten")
Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribing from our newsletter)
Object to how we process your data
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you feel your rights have been breached — ico.org.u
To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch at thegroundworkstudio@gmail.com.
Keeping your data safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Our website is served over HTTPS, and we only work with reputable third-party platforms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
